Overall Glucose Metabolic Pathways

Glucose in the blood is transported into the hepatocyte by the GLUT 2 transporter

In hepatocyte glucose is converted to glucose 6-phosphate by glucokinase.

Glucose 6-phosphate can proceed to glycolysis, glucogenesis or the pentose phosphate pathway
