The PHI Kappa Mu–Phi Lambda Delta Grants-in-Aid Scholarship supports qualified medical students at the University of the Philippines Mindanao School of Medicine. Ten (10) scholarships of $1,500 per year are available to students with demonstrated financial need and a commitment to serving underserved communities in Mindanao and beyond.
Recipients are evaluated on a competitive basis using a merit-based system that considers academic achievement, financial circumstances, leadership potential, and commitment to community service. The scholarship is awarded without regard to gender or other protected status.
Award Details: Each scholarship provides $1,500 per academic year. Recipients may reapply annually for renewal based on continued financial need, maintained academic standing, and demonstrated commitment to community service.
Officially admitted to UP Mindanao School of Medicine
Enrolled or intending to enroll as a full-time Doctor of Medicine student
Demonstrate financial need
In good academic and disciplinary standing
Of good moral character
Completed application form, letter of admission, certificate of registration, and official academic transcript
Proof of family income such as tax return, certificate of employment, social welfare certification, or certificate of indigency
500–1,000 words describing educational goals, financial circumstances, career aspirations, and commitment to serving underserved communities
Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with your academic ability, leadership, or character
Recent passport-sized photograph, curriculum vitae, and optional evidence of leadership, community service, or academic achievements
Demonstrated financial circumstances

Leadership positions and initiatives
Volunteer work and outreach
Personal statement and moral character
Submit all required documents electronically or in print
Committee reviews applications; selected candidates invited for interviews
Recipients notified in writing with notice of award and scholarship agreement
Recipients submit signed scholarship agreement and begin studies
