The visceral component is divided into the parasympathetic, sympathetic divisions, enteric division

The thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic viscera receive dual innervation from the sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions of the autonomic nervous system.

The limbs and body wall are supplied by sympathetics alone.1
